Manesar
Whenever you plan a weekend getaway, time is less and you want to spend more time exploring than traveling. Hence, visiting a place closer is much better. This is one such place, just 56kms away from Delhi. Being a calm and charming village, it is a business hub with rustic beauty. Grown tremendously over the past decades, it has great scenic beauty and luxurious resorts for a peaceful stay and getaway.
In around 3 to 5 thousand you can easily have a fun experience, just taking about one and a half hour from the NH 48.
Best Time to Visit: November to February is the best time to have a calming experience with great weather.
Neemrana
Standing with its splendid historical beauty, it is situated in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, 129kms from Delhi. The most spectacular sight here is the Neemrana Fort, craftily built with the 15th century rustic charm. It has now been turned into a royal, luxurious hotel, requiring only 3 to 5 thousand per person.
It is a great escape for nature and historical lovers who are curious to learn about the great history and explore the unexplored charms. From the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, it takes about two and a half hours to reach via road.
Best Time to Visit: Any time of the year is apt for a visit here. But the ideal is winter season, for great weather and greenery.
Sariska Tiger Reserve
A wonder in the Aravalli Hills, it welcomes the visitors with great fauna, dense deciduous forests, rocky landscape, perfect for nature lovers. If you are an animal enthusiast, do plan a weekend trip as it is 195kms from Delhi. The area is huge, consisting of sambar deer, leopards, chinkara, Royal Bengal tigers along with other wildlife attractions.
To cover the full distance, via road journey takes about 5 hours. From Delhi trains can also be taken to Alwar as from Alwar Railway Station it is just 37kms away, easily accessible by cabs and taxis. Along with safari charges each person needs to spend about 4 to 5 thousand rupees.
Best Time to Visit: It is available for visit from 1st October to 30th June; October to March is a great time to visit.
Lansdowne
From the plains of Rajasthan and rocky forests, let’s move to the calming mountains. It is a spectacular, tranquil abode in Uttarakhand, 260kms away from Delhi. It resides surrounded by lofty hills, perfect to be explored by nature and mountain lovers. It is a great sight for bird watching and trekking, exploring the secret terrains and mesmerizing Himalayan views.
Kotdwara is the nearest Railway Station to this place. If you travel by road from Delhi, it will take about 6.5 hours with great views. The expenditure is not much, just 3 to 4 thousand per person worth for the spectacular sights.
Best Time to Visit: All year long, it is a great place to be explored. So, from March to November, it is wonderful and apt for a visit. Rainy seasons should be avoided for safety concerns.
Mashobra
A not very well-known place, it is extremely quiet and calming, perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Though it is a bit far being 359kms away from Delhi, taking about 9 hours via road. But the journey is worth the try, as it gives a break from the hustle bustle of the city, helping to restore your peace of mind, situated in the Shimla district. There is a Forest Reserve Sanctuary with great flora and fauna, thrilling scenic beauty and resorts.
About 4 to 6 thousand is required for each person. To cut short the journey a bit you can travel to Shimla Airport and then reach here via road, just 45kms.
Best Time to Visit: March to June is a great time to plan a trip here.
