Introduction
Grahan hamlet is a magnificent hidden pearl of Himachal Pradesh, located near the town of Kasol at an altitude of 7700 feet above sea level. The only way to get to Grahan Village from Kasol is to take the Grahan Village trek. Every nature lover will enjoy trekking through the pathless woods while listening to the deafening roar of the Parvati River. The location is an incredible joy for enthusiastic trekkers, with a population of barely 350 people.
The months of mid-April to December are the most charming in Grahan village, and we were fortunate enough to visit during that time. In the Parvati valley, Grahan is around 8 kilometers from Kasol. The trip to Grahan village will take about 4-5 hours on average, with a few stops along the way. Even for a novice hiker, the hike is rather easy. This town also serves as a starting point for hikers heading to Sar Pass. As a result, the Grahan trek’s path is well-marked with red arrows along the way. You’ll find a variety of beautiful areas to take in nature’s splendor and rest in the shade of the pine trees if you get tired.
Snow Capped Jewel
Himachal Pradesh, India’s snow-capped jewel, is located in the Himalayan range. The state is traversed by several perennial rivers. Himachal Pradesh, often known as “Dev Bhumi,” is famed for its picturesque valleys, breathtaking mountain views, scenic hiking paths, mysterious rivers, and spiritual monasteries. You will visit Kasol, Chalal, and Grahan throughout your journey with us. There is no reason why you should not embark on this excursion, which is filled with numerous magnificent paths and scenic sights.
The residents of Grahan village are extremely friendly and welcoming. You’ll be ecstatic to watch them going about their regular routines. The villagers are also honey collectors, and many of them carry large weapons into the dense forest of the high highlands to fend off bears lurking near the honeycomb. Because bees obtain nectar from high-mountain wildflowers, the honey has a distinct flavour. Summer and fall are the greatest times to visit Grahan village because the rich flora is well-lit throughout these months.

Away from noise and pollution
The destination at the conclusion of the Grahan Trek, like many other spots in Parvati Valley, is a great place to spend some time away from noise and distractions. Take a stroll through the village; there are numerous walkways and trails that connect Grahan to the neighbouring settlement of Pulgi. Though non-villagers are not permitted inside, the temple in the heart of Grahan is well worth seeing. Make an effort to communicate with the locals, and ALWAYS ASK permission before photographing them. Honey is another unique aspect of Grahan that you should experience if you have the opportunity. The residents of Grahan are known for collecting honey from the forest, and it isn’t just any honey. The honey from Grahan Village is so powerful that it literally gives you a sugar rush.
ITINERARY
Day 1 : Kasol – Grahan Village
The trip to Grahan village begins in Kasol and takes about 4 to 5 hours to traverse the 9-kilometer distance. The route starts just before the bridge that leads to Kasol’s major bus station. The path is more or less laid out with red arrows throughout, but there’s still a chance you’ll get lost in terms of aesthetics. During the journey, one will pass through deep forests with the sound of birds and bees, but there is one element that will accompany you the entire way: the Parvati river. The expedition would also include crossing two wooden bridges, the second of which would represent the halfway point of the journey. Only in the last 150 meters of the trek does one begin to see the village houses, and what a view it is. The majority of the houses are built in the traditional manner, and some are nearly 200-250 years old.
Roam throughout the village and interact with the children who may be found in every nook and cranny. Have your sizzling hot lunch while listening to the sound of quiet surrounding the warmth of the bonfire at night.
Day 2 : Grahan Village – Kasol
Today, get up early to climb to the dawn viewpoint, where the magnificent views of the Sar pass mountain ranges will enchant you with their magnificence. Take a break near the Grahan Nala in the middle of the trail to refill your water bottles or simply relax in nature. After arriving in Kasol, you can spend the remainder of the day at your leisure before continuing your journey.
